Born in Munich in 1965, Konstantin Grcic trained as a cabinet maker at Parnham College. In 1988 he moved to London, where he studied design at the Royal College of Art. A contemporary of Jasper Morrison, many of his products have received prestigious design awards, and some are on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1999 Grcic won the competition to furnish a public square in London's Canary Wharf.
